The authorities at the Staff Selection Commission have finally released the official SSC CGL Notification 2024 for 17727 vacancies on its official website. The Tier 1 Exam is scheduled to be held in September – October 2024 and the Tier 2 Exam in December 2024. Subjects Asked in the SSC CGL Exam and Their Weightage
The SSC CGL Recruitment process consists of two stages and the weightage for the subjects asked differs for the two stages. Since the latest change in the exam pattern, the sections of the Tier 2 exam have undergone a significant change. Tier 1
The first stage of the selection process of SSC CGL 2024 i.e. the Tier 1 Exam consists of 100 questions worth 200 marks distributed equally among four sections. These sections are General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension. In this stage, the weightage of each subject is equal and the exam is qualifying in nature. The subject-wise weightage of each section in the Tier 1 Exam is as follows.

Tier 2
The candidates who will qualify for the category-wise cutoff for the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam will proceed to the Tier 2 stage. The scores obtained by the candidates in this stage form the basis of the final merit list. The SSC CGL Tier 2 Paper 1 consists of three sections with two modules each out of these the first two sections are scoring and the third one is qualifying. Section I contains questions on Mathematical Abilities and Reasoning & General Intelligence. Section II contains questions on English Language & Comprehension and General Awareness.

After going through the subject-wise weightage of both stages, the candidate should be ready to make their preparation strategy. The SSC CGL exam is a long process and is conducted over a period of six to nine months. The candidates who are preparing to appear for the SSC CGL 2024 should follow a smart strategy to utilize the time available most efficiently.
