Over the last 9 years i.e. from 2015 to the present, the UPSC CSE Prelims Cut Off for the General category has remained within the range of 75 to 116 marks out of 200. For other categories, the minimum and maximum cutoffs are 47.82 and 110.66, respectively.

The UPSC Mains exam constitutes four General Studies (GS) Papers along with two Optional Papers. There are also 2 language papers and an Essay Paper. The final UPSC cut offs are based on the cumulative score obtained in the Mains and Interview stages. Thus, the maximum marks are 2025. From the past 9 years, candidates can observe that the maximum final cutoff for the General category has been only 1006 marks out of 2025. Thus, candidates require only around 49.68% in the UPSC CSE exam to become a part of various Government Administrative Services.
