SSC One Time Registration (OTR) Process 2024
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released a new short notice dated 26 February 2024 regarding new One-Time Registration (OTR) required by the candidates on SSC’s new website launched on 17 February 2024. Candidates will find this article useful in knowing the changes in the OTR on the SSC’s new website and the steps to do One-Time Registration.
Important Points in SSC Short Notice Dated 26 February 2024
- The SSC unveiled its new website accessible at ssc.gov.in.
- Candidate’s must create new OTR to apply for any new exam conducted by the SSC.
- The new OTR will remain valid for all subsequent exams conducted by the SSC.
- Old OTR on SSC’s old website at ssc.nic.in is no longer valid for new application forms.
- The new OTR will require the candidate to capture a live photograph instead of uploading a recent photograph as was required earlier.
Steps for New One-Time Registration on SSC’s New Website
Here, we are listing easy steps which are required for One-Time Registration on SSC’s new website.
- Visit the new website of SSC i.e. ssc.gov.in
- Click on ‘Login or Register’. Then, click on ‘Register Now’.
- You will be redirected to ‘The Candidate Portal’.
- The Screen will show the following 4 steps:
Personal Details: Candidate’s Name, Identification, Contact
Password Creation: Create New Password
Additional Details: Candidate’s Nationality, Address, Education
Declaration: Candidate’s Details, Confirmation
- Candidate’s must note that they must fill the OTR correctly as incorrect or wrong information will lead to cancellation of candidature.
- Click on Continue and complete the OTR form in the four steps mentioned above.
- Save your OTR details as this will be required every time you want to fill a new application form.
Detailed Step by Step One Time Registration on SSC
Detailed step-by-step guide to filling the One-Time Registration on SSC’s new website is given below.
- The first section of OTR is filling the Personal Details. There are a total of 14 points i.e. Aadhaar Card details, Other ID Card details (accepted ID’s include Driving License, Employer ID, Pan Card, Passport, School/College ID, and Voter ID), Candidate Name (As per Matriculation Certificate), Name Change details if applicable, Gender, DoB, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Matriculation Board, Roll Number and Year of Passing, Highest Qualification level, and finally, Candidate’s Mobile Number and Email ID.
- All the details under Personal Details section are mandatory. However, candidate’s have the option of either filling in the Aadhaar Card details or other ID Card from the options given above.
- Also note the fact that upon entering Mobile Number and Email ID, different OTP verification will be sent to both. OTP verification is mandatory for proceeding forward.
- After filling all the details correctly verify carefully and then, click on Save & Next button.
- After successful OTR, you will see the Registration Number on your screen. Note it down and click on Continue.
- Login with your Registration Number and One Time Password.
- Set your password and keep it safe. You will also have to choose four security questions.
- Login with new password.
- In the third step, fill in the nationality, disability details if applicable, and permanent as well as current address.
- Finally, check the Declaration and complete the One-Time Registration process.
- Save the OTR details for future use.
In the initial days, the One-Time Registration process will be quite slow. Hence, candidates are advised to be patient and try to fill the OTR form in off-peak hours with a stable internet connection.
