English Language & Comprehension
The English Language section tests candidates’ understanding of basic English language concepts such as grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, comprehension passages, etc. The list of the topics included in the English syllabus is as follows:
Numerical and Mathematical Ability
The Numerical and Mathematical Ability section of the SSC MTS (Staff Selection Commission Multi Tasking Staff) exam primarily covers topics such as basic arithmetic, number systems, algebra, geometry, and data interpretation.
General Awareness
The General Awareness section consists of basic subjects, static GK, and Current Affairs. The important topics covered in the general awareness are listed below under the SSC MTS Syllabus. The candidates qualifying for the cutoff for the computer-based examination will be called for the Physical Efficiency Test and the Physical Standard Test.
- The PET exam consists of a Walking Test the parameters for which are: 1600 meters in 15 minutes for the male candidates and 1 Km in 20 minutes for the female candidates.
- In the PST exam, the candidates will be examined based on the candidates’ height, chest size, and weight. The tables below will provide a better idea of the pattern of this stage of the selection process.

- The height standard applicable to the male candidates is relaxable by 5 cm and 2.5 cm for female candidates in the case of Garhwalis, Assamese, Gorkhas, and members of Schedule Tribes.

SSC MTS Exam Pattern 2025

- As per the exam pattern, a Computer-Based Examination will be conducted which is divided into 2 Sessions: Session I and Session II. It is mandatory to attempt both Sessions. Not attempting any session will disqualify the candidate.
- Paper- I will be objective type (Multiple Choice Questions).
- There will be no negative marking in Session I. In Session II, there will be a negative marking of one mark for each wrong answer.
