SSC MTS Eligibility Criteria: Nationality

 Nationality is the first eligibility criterion mentioned in the official notification released by the Staff Selection Commission. It provides an additional checkpoint for the commission to cross-examine the candidates; and identity to conduct a fair and just recruitment process. A candidate is required to be

  2. Subject of Nepal
  3. Subject of Bhutan
  4. Tibetan Refugee
  5. Person of Indian Origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Afghanistan, Kenya, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam.

A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the Examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.

SSC MTS Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification

The Staff Selection Commission releases the SSC MTS Vacancies every year to select young and dynamic candidates who have the basic educational qualifications to perform their roles and responsibilities in an efficient manner. The minimum educational qualification of this post makes it one of the most popular recruitments and lakhs of candidates appear for the SSC MTS Exam every year.

  1. The candidates must have passed matriculation (10th Pass) or equivalent examination from a recognized board. 
  2. In case a candidate does not pass the qualifying examination before the closing date of receipt of the application form, he or she is not permitted to apply.

SSC MTS Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit

As the candidates who have cleared their matriculation standard exam are very young, the lower age limit is fixed at 18 years old. However, to limit the number of applications to a manageable amount, the commission keeps a limit on the upper age of the candidates as well. The details regarding the age limit and the age relaxation provided to various categories are provided below.

  • A candidate must be 18-25 years old (MTS and Havaldar in CBIN)
  • A candidate must be 18-27 years old as of the cut-off date (Havaldar in CBIC)
  • Apart from the pre-mentioned Age Requirement, candidates belonging to reserved categories are given age relaxation as per Government Rules.
