Branch Wise Exam Analysis for SSC JE
The SSC Junior Engineer exam is conducted for three engineering branches: Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical. Since the Tier 2 exam is different for each branch, we have provided the branch-wise exam analysis for the SSC JE Tier 2 exam below.
Civil & Structural Branch
The SSC JE Tier 2 exam for the Civil & Structural branch had an easy to moderate difficulty level. There were 7-8 numerical questions, and the rest were theoretical. The questions covered topics like Building Materials, Estimating, Costing, and Valuation, Surveying, Soil Mechanics, Hydraulics, Irrigation Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Theory of Structures, Concrete Technology, RCC Design, and Steel Design.
Electrical Branch
The difficulty level of the Electrical paper was moderate because 11-12 numerical questions were asked. Most of the questions were from topics like Basic Concepts, Circuit Law, Magnetic Circuit, AC Fundamentals, Measurement and Measuring Instruments, Electrical Machines, Generation, Transmission and Distribution, Switchgears, Cables, Estimation and Costing, Utilization of Electrical Energy, and Basic Electronics.
Mechanical Branch
The SSC JE Tier 2 exam for the Mechanical Engineering branch was easier, with only 1-2 numerical questions. The questions were mainly from the topics Theory of Machines and Machine Design, Engineering Mechanics and Strength of Materials, Thermal Engineering, Fluid Mechanics & Machinery, and Production Engineering.
SSC JE Tier 2 Exam Pattern
The SSC JE Tier 2 exam will have 100 multiple-choice questions from Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering. Candidates will get 3 marks for each correct answer, but 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. The Duration of exam will be 2 hours. Candidates will need to attempt one part of the exam based on the subject they selected during the application process.
