SSC GD Constable Exam Pattern 2025
As per the exam pattern, there will be a total number of 80 questions having a total weightage of 160 marks. The total time duration of the SSC GD Constable 2025 written exam will be 60 minutes. There will be four sections in SSC GD 2024 Written Test- GK, Reasoning, Mathematics, and English/Hindi.
- Each question will carry 2 marks
- There will be a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer

SSC GD Constable Preparation Strategy 2025
The candidates willing to apply for the various posts of SSC GD 2025 should be equipped with a proper preparation strategy to tackle all the aspects of the detailed exam pattern and syllabus of each stage of the selection process. We have mentioned some pointers that they should keep in mind while coming up with their individual strategies and they should also be mindful that these are mere suggestions, and they should adopt these according to their own strengths and weaknesses.
1. Give every Section Equal Importance
The question paper of the written examination for SSC GD 2025 will consist of 80 questions distributed across four sections. The candidates should not think that preparing only for some sections of the exam can give you an overall score. You must focus on all the topics properly to increase your overall score. 2. Practice the Previous Year’s Question Paper
Before going for the exam candidate must practice every topic. Solve previous year’s papers and try to learn the pattern of questions asked. Alternatively, since the difficult sections require a lot of time, candidates could also complete the easier sections at first, since these questions are less time-consuming and could affect their overall performance.
5. Stay Calm and read the question properly
To make sure you crack the exam with a good score, it is necessary to stay calm while taking the exam. Don’t think too much and be patient. Candidates must read each and every question properly before marking the right answer.
6. Time Management
It is the key to cracking any kind of exam. If you will properly manage the timing during the exam without panic. You are halfway there. Candidates must prepare themselves according to this.
SSC GD Constable Section-Wise Preparation Strategy 2025
SSC GD Constable Exam consists of four sections/subjects and candidates are required to have basic knowledge of these subjects. Here we discuss some important preparation strategies for SSC GD Constable Exam 2024. The four sections/subjects included in SSC GD Constable exam are as follows:
- Elementary Mathematics
- General Intelligence & Reasoning
- General Knowledge & General Awareness
- English/Hindi Language
Section-wise Preparation : According to the previous notifications SSC GD include 4 subjects and each subject requires a unique preparation strategy. Create a study plan according to your strength & weakness. Given below some general tips for each section:
Elementary Mathematics
- Focus more on Topics like Number systems, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM and HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Square Root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern.
- Practice at least 30 to 50 questions per topic, because mathematics has significant weightage in the exam.
- Try to memorize square (1-40), cubes (1-30), pythagoras triplet, Tables (upto 30) & use concept like digital sum and approximation for faster calculations
- Solve previous year questions of SSC GD and also of other exams which include these topics.
General Intelligence & Reasoning:
- Practice both verbal and non-verbal reasoning question of previous year exams of Railways & SSC because they similar syllabus for reasoning.
- Focus more on topics like Puzzles, Seating arrangement, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency.
- Try to solve 2 sectional mock of this section everyday, to improve your speed and accuracy.
General Awareness:
- For current affairs, try to focus on last 6 months, try to maintain a diary and update it daily. Revise the previous information before adding any new information.
- Try to cover static subjects like Indian history, geography, and polity, Art & culture from NCERT & Standard books and while reading try to make handwritten short notes for each topic, it will be helpful for quick revision.
- Solve previous year papers, it will give you an idea about the important topics that you have to prepare on priority.
English Language
- This section encompasses basic skills in English Language Comprehension, Vocabulary, and Grammar.
- To score well in this section, a candidate should have a great hold on vocabulary and reading comprehension.
- For vocabulary preparation, try to memorize antonyms, synonyms, one-word substitutions, idioms, and phrases from previous year papers conducted by SSC.
- After reading one passage or one cloze test, you can attempt 5 questions according to the pattern followed by SSC in previous year examinations.
