RTI Reply to Delhi Police Constable for 9000+ Vacancies

In response to a recent RTI application filed to know the latest updated vacancies in the various posts of the Delhi Police, the department has declared that there are a total of 9465 vacant seats in the Delhi Police Constable Post. The official reply also contains details of vacant seats available in other posts as well that will be filled via promotion or direct recruitment.

Delhi Police Vacancy Details

The RTI reply has provided the number of vacancies for various posts updated as of the date of the official reply. The posts mentioned in the reply are that of ACP, Inspector, Sub Inspector, Assistant Sub Inspector, Head Constable and Constable. The table below will provide a better idea of the post-wise vacancies.

Delhi Police Constable Recruitment Process

The candidates waiting for the official announcement of these vacancies should keep in mind that the data provided in the RTI reply does not represent the vacancies that are going to be declared in the upcoming recruitment process. The official vacancies will soon be updated on the Delhi Police websites.

As observed in the previous years, Delhi Police conducts the entire recruitment process in a period of 6 months, the first stage of which is the Computer Based Examination followed by a Physical Endurance & Measurement Test. The candidates should be aged between 18 – 25 years and should have cleared the final exam for the 12th Standard. The post of constable requires the candidates to be verified holders of an LMV Driver License.

It is being reiterated that these are not the official vacancies for the upcoming Delhi Police recruitment cycle. These numbers also include those candidates who are yet to join the service or are still in the probation period.
