RRB Technician 2024 Vacancy
The Railway Recruitment Board has revised the total number of vacancies in a recent notice on the official website for RRB Technician Recruitment 2024. The official notification announced 1092 vacancies for Technician Grade 1 Signal and 8052 vacancies for Technician Grade 3. In the new notice, the Board has proposed to add 5154 new vacancies. With these new vacancies has increased from 9,144 to 14,298.

RRB Technician 2024 Eligibility Criteria
The required eligibility criteria for RRB Technician Recruitment 2024 as mentioned in the notification are given below. RRB Technician eligibility criteria 2024 is based on the Age Limit as well as the Educational Qualification of the candidates. RRB Technician 2024 Age Limit (01/07/2024)
The RRB Technician 2024 Age Limit will be reckoned as of 01 July 2024. The upper age limit is revised by RRB recently. For applying to RRB Technician Grade I Signal, candidates should be between 18 to 36 years of age while for RRB Technician Grade III, the maximum age limit is 33 years only. RRB Technician Age Relaxation
The age relaxation provided to different social and economic categories is different according to the latest RRB Technician notification. The SC and ST will be allowed age relaxation in the upper age limit of up to 5 years whereas OBC NCL up to 3 years. RRB Technician 2024 Selection Process
The selection for the post of RRB Technician Grade I Signal and Technician Grade III will be based on a Computer-Based Test (CBT), Document Verification, and Medical Examination. The selection process for RRB Technician is mentioned below in detail.
- Computer-Based Test or CBT: Candidates will have to appear for an online computer-based test to qualify for RRB Technician recruitment. The exam pattern for the CBT is discussed in detail in the next section. The final merit will be based on the CBT only.
- Document Verification: Those shortlisted in the CBT will have to get their documents verified by their respective regional RRBs to proceed to the next step of the selection process. Candidates must possess the required qualification like age limit and educational qualification which will be verified during DV.
- Medical Examination: Upon successful document verification, candidates will be called for a medical examination where they will be tested against the medical standard required according to the RRB Technician Notification 2024.
RRB Technician 2024 Exam Pattern
The RRB Technician exam pattern 2024 is different for Technician Grade 1 Signal and Technician Grade 3 posts. Although the Computer-Based Test for both of these posts will consist of 100 questions worth 100 marks to be solved by the candidates in 90 minutes, the subject-wise distribution for the two posts is different. There will be a negative marking of 1/3rd for every wrong answer. Also, because of the large number of candidates, the RRB Technician Exam will be conducted in multiple shifts which will lead to normalization of marks in this exam.
Exam Pattern for CBT For Technician Gr 1 Signal
The online CBT for RRB Technician Grade 1 Signal Exam 2024 will consist of five different subjects i.e. General Awareness, General Intelligence and Reasoning, Basics of Computers and Applications, Mathematics, and Basic Science and Engineering. The subject-wise distribution of questions and their corresponding marks for the RRB Technician Grade 1 Signal CBT is as follows:

However, the RRB Technician Grade III syllabus includes only Mathematics, General Intelligence, General Science & General Awareness. RRB Technician 2024 Salary
Candidates can check RRB Technician Grade 1 Signal and Grade 3 salary in this section for the Railway Technician 2024 Recruitment. The RRB Technician Grade 1 Signal is a Level 5 post that will pay the selected candidates a basic pay of Rs. 29,200 during training.
