How Many Candidates Shortlisted in RRB NTPC CBT-1?

The Railway Recruitment Board’s (RRB) Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) examination is one of the most awaited recruitment processes in India with a huge number of vacancies. It is anticipated that the RRB NTPC 2024 Notification for 10,844 vacancies will be published in August 2024. The interested candidates must be wondering about the competition and this can be estimated from the number of applicants.

How Many Candidates Shortlisted in RRB NTPC CBT-1?

As per a notification released by the Railway Recruitment Board in 2019, the number of candidates selected by the board will be 20 times the number of vacancies available for recruitment. The examination for CBT 1 in the previous year was conducted by railway in 7 different phases from 28th December 2021 to 31sy July 2022 to recruit eligible aspirants for the Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) in various Zonal Railways and Production Units of Indian Railways for a total of 35281 Vacancies. The revised result for RRB NTPC CBT 1 was released by the railway on 31st March 2022.

In the following table, candidates can check the exact number of candidates selected after 1st stage of the RRB NTPC examination i.e CBT 1, all these candidates will appear for RRB NTPC CBT 2. RRB NTPC CBT 2 examination for Level 4 and Level 6 is scheduled to be conducted on 9th and 10th May 2022.

RRB NTPC Vacancy: Region Wise Vacancy

The RRB NTPC will be released for 10,844 vacancies. The detailed seats available in each region will be announced along with the release of the official notification. The candidates, however, should be aware of the vacancy trends of the previous years as announced by the Railway Recruitment Board. How Many Candidates Shortlisted in RRB NTPC CBT-1?

RRB releases a huge number of vacancies across India, for which more than 1 crore aspirants register every year. It is challenging for any organization to examine such a large number of applicants.

RRB will shortlist candidates based on the normalized marks of the RRB NTPC CBT 1 examination and the cutoff decided by the board, CBT 1 examination is qualifying. The number of candidates to be called for the RRB NTPC CBT 2 examination will be 20 times the number of vacancies available for recruitment. RRB NTPC Selection

The candidates who wish to apply for the various posts offered by the RRB NTPC Recruitment should know the details regarding the various stages of the selection process. The candidates have to go through two stages of written examinations before appearing for the Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) for some posts and document verification for other posts. The official notification will contain more details regarding the selection process for the recruitment.

  • The final selection of RRB NTPC will be based on the performance of candidates in 2nd Stage CBT and based on the performance of candidates in both 2nd Stages CBT and CBAT/TST (as applicable).
  • Candidates equal to the number of vacancies will be called for Document Verification as per their merit and options
  • Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing the requisite Medical Fitness Test to be conducted by the Railway Administration, final verification of educational and community certificates, and verification of antecedents/character of the candidates.
