PSTET Exam Pattern 2024: The PSEB has released the PSTET Exam Pattern 2024 on the official website of PSTET. The recruitment board released a tentative exam date which is scheduled for 26th May 2024. The PSTET Exam is conducted by the Punjab State Council to recruit primary and secondary school teachers in the state. PSTET 2024 Exam Pattern

The selection of the candidates will be made solely based on their performance in the written exam. PSTET Exam Pattern 2024 for Paper II

The PSTET Exam Pattern 2024 for Paper II is for candidates who want to teach students of classes VI to XII. In Paper II, new subjects like Arts and Craft, Physical Education, Urdu, Sanskrit, Home Science, and Music have been added in addition to Mathematics & Science and Social Science. The exam duration is 150 minutes.

PSTET Exam Pattern 2024 Structure & Content of PSTET

  • All questions according to the PSTET Exam Pattern 2024 will be of MCQ type.
  • There will be no negative marking.
  • Candidates can appear for both Paper I & Paper II.
  • The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on the educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 6-11 years. Around 70 percent of the items would focus on the mentioned Units (a) and (b) in the syllabus while 30 percent would be related to Learning and Pedagogy.
  • The test items for Language I (Punjabi) will focus on proficiencies related to the medium of instruction. Pedagogy of language development would cover 45-50 percent of the test items.
  • The test items for Language II (English) will focus on the elements of language, communication, and comprehension skills. Pedagogy of language development would cover 45-50 percent of the test items.
  • The test items in Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on the concepts, problem-solving abilities, and pedagogical understanding of the subjects. In both subject areas, Pedagogical understanding would cover 25-30 percent of the items.
  • The questions in the test for Paper I and Paper II will be based on the topics prescribed in the syllabus of classes I to V and VI to XII respectively, but their difficulty standard as well as linkages could be up to the Secondary stage.
