STEP I: Register Yourself

Candidates have to firstly register themselves through the official application link irrespective of their previous registrations for any other posts or examinations; with their GATE 2024 application number and other details carefully as it can not be changed after submission.

STEP II: Fill the Application Form

Nationality

The Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has allowed only the citizens of India to apply for the recruitment of Trainee-Engineer (Electronics) vacancy. Candidates other than Indian Nationality are not eligible to apply.

Age Limit

As specified by POWERGRID candidate must not be more than 28 years as on 19 December 2024. Relaxation provided for: OBC(NCL)- 3 years; SC/ST- 5 years; PwBD- 10 years and above; Ex-Servicemen/ DESM / Victims of riots- As per directives by Government of India.

Educational Qualifications

The Candidate must have a full time B.E./ B.Tech/ B.Sc. (Engineering.) in discipline Electronics/ Electronics Telecommunication/ & Communication / Electronics & Electronics Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent from recognized University/ Institute with minimum 60% marks or Equivalent CGPA. The candidate must also possess a valid score card of GATE 2024 in respective paper with qualifying marks as declared by GATE 2024 organizing authority.

Other Requirements

Eligible candidate must be medically fit and sound as prescribed by the PGCIL guidelines for Health Standards. The candidates belonging to applicable PwBD category must possess valid certificate to be eligible.

PGCIL Recruitment 2024: Selection Process

The selection process for PGCIL recruitment 2024 is done through the following steps:

1. Validation and Shortlisting of Candidates according to the GATE 2024 scores (85% weightage).
2. Candidates shortlisted for Group Discussion and Interview may undergo Behavioral Assessment.
3. Group Discussion of the eligible candidates take place in opted language after getting shortlisted (3% weightage).
4. Further the candidate needs to qualify Personal Interview round in the language opted by them (Hindi/English) after getting selected for it (12% weightage).
5.  The verification of  required documents mentioned in the call letter is done on the same day as of interview or Group Discussion.

PGCIL Recruitment 2024: Pay Scale and Salary

The selected candidates are placed in the pay scale of INR 30,000 -1,20,000/-, IDA, HRA and Perks at 12% of Basic pay per month during training period. After the completion of One year training, the Candidate will be placed as Assistant Engineer at E0 level in the pay scale of INR 30,000 -1,20,000/- (IDA).

The selected candidates need to complete the eligibility period in the organization for further promotions in the higher grades as E0 to E1 for 5 years excluding training period, E1 to E2 and above upto E6 for 5 years each.
