The 95th Academy award ceremony was held at the Dolby Theatre, in Los Angeles, California. The first academy awards were given in 1929 at a private dinner held in Los Angeles.
The Oscar ceremony 2023 was seen to be dominated by ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’. This movie won seven awards, including Best Picture and also had eleven nominations, the most of the ceremony. Brendan Fraser won the award for the Best Actor for the movie, ‘The Whale’ while the best actress award is won by Michelle Yeoh for, her outstanding performance in ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once ’. Oscar 2023 RRR
Naatu Naatu song from SS Rajamouli’s RRR has won the won the award for the Best Original Song from the movie, “RRR”. This song had a tough fight with the other nominees in the category which included Applause (Tell It Like a Woman), Hold My Hand (Top Gun Maverick), Lift Me Up (Black Pather Wakanda Forever), and This is a Life (Everything Everywhere All at Once). The song “Naatu Naatu” has created history as it is the first song from any Indian film to win in the Best Song category. This is the second Indian song after Jai Ho from Slumdog Millionaire to win this prestigious award in the same category.
