Madras High Court Recruitment 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must check the required eligibility criteria i.e. educational qualification and age limit. The eligibility varies according to the post the candidate needs to apply. Check the details mentioned below. Candidates satisfying the below eligibility can apply for the concerned recruitment process,

Age Limit

  • The Minimum Age Limit is 18 Years
  • The maximum age limit for Scheduled Castes /Scheduled Castes (Arunthathiyars), Scheduled Tribes, and Destitute Widows of all castes is 37 Years
  • Backward Classes / Denotified Communities, Backward Classes (Other than Backward Class Muslims) and Backward Class Muslims is 34 Years
  • The Maximum Age Limit for For Others/ Unreserved categories [i.e., Candidates not belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs and BCMs] is 32 years 

Educational Qualification

  1. Examiner, Reader, Senior Bailiff, Junior Bailiff/Process Server, Process Writer, and Xerox Operator must have at least a General Educational Qualification, meaning they should have passed the S.S.L.C. Public Examination or an equivalent, qualifying them for admission to Higher Secondary or College Courses of Studies.
  2. For the role of Driver, candidates need to have passed the VIII standard and hold a valid Driving License for operating motor vehicles as per the Motor Vehicles Act. They should also have at least five years of practical experience in driving.
  3. Copyist Attenders and Office Assistants should have passed the VIII Standard or its equivalent at the time of notification. Additionally, they should be capable of riding a bicycle.
  4. Cleanliness Workers/Scavengers, Gardeners, Watchmen/Nightwatchmen, Nightwatchmen/Masalchis, Watchmen/Masalchis, Sweepers, and Watermen/Waterwomen must be able to read and write Tamil.

Application Fees

It is essential to make the required payment for the completion of registration. The category-wise application fees are as follows:

  • For BC (Other than Backward Class Muslims)/ BCM/ MBC & DC/ Others is Rs. 500/- for each post
  • For SC/ ST application fees are Nil
  • The application fee mode is online.
  • Differently Abled Persons and Destitute Widows of all Communities – Nil
    (a) For Differently Abled Persons, the disability should not be less than 40% [Benchmark Disabilities] (b) For Destitute Widows, the Destitute Widow Certificate should have been obtained from the Revenue Divisional Officer / Sub Collector / Assistant Collector on or before the Date of Notification.
