JK Constable Recruitment 2024 Eligibility Criteria

JK Constable Recruitment 2024 Selection Process
The selection process for the JK Police Constable Recruitment 2024 includes the following stages:
- Written Exam: Candidates will first take a written exam to determine merit. Bonus marks may be awarded to those holding NCC Certificates, as specified in S.O. 290 of 2021 dated 20.08.2021.
- Physical Standard Test (PST): Based on merit, candidates will undergo the PST, which is qualifying in nature. The number of candidates advancing to the PST will be six times the total number of vacancies for each category.
- Physical Endurance Test (PET): Candidates who pass the PST will then take the PET, which is also qualifying.
- Medical Examination: Finally, candidates will need to undergo a basic medical examination before the appointment. This step is separate from the PST and PET.
JK Police Constable Recruitment 2024 Exam Pattern
The written exam will be the first stage of the selection process. Candidates who pass this exam will move on to the next stages. The written exam will consist of Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions and will be conducted in English only. There will be negative markings, with a deduction of 1/4th of the marks for each incorrect answer. The syllabus for the exam will be announced separately on the official JKSSB website.
Marking Scheme
According to the Home Department, candidates having National Cadet Corps Certificate will be awarded bonus marks as mentioned here:
- 5% of maximum marks for the candidates holding NCC “C” Certificate.
- 3% of maximum marks for the candidates holding NCC “B” Certificate.
- 2% of maximum marks for the candidates holding NCC “A” Certificate.
Physical Standard Test
The candidates qualifying for the written test will be shortlisted for the Physical Standard Test, six times the total number of vacancies filled in each category. The shortlisted candidates should meet the following standards:

Physical Endurance Test
Candidates qualifying for the Physical Standard Test will undergo the Physical Endurance Test for males and females. PET shall be qualifying in nature. PET requirements are as follows:
