G20 Summit 2023

The G20 is a global intergovernmental forum that brings together the most influential developed and emerging economies in the world. Its membership consists of 19 individual countries, including Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States, as well as the European Union (EU). This year G20 Summit will be organized on the 09th and 10th September 2023 and our Country i.e. India is the host of the G20 Summit. 

The G20 accounts for 85% of global GDP, 75% of international trade, and around two-thirds of the world’s population. Established in 1999 as a response to various global economic challenges, the G20 has played a pivotal role in international economic cooperation. Since the 2007–2008 financial crisis, the G20 has consistently convened on an annual basis. During these summits, each member nation is typically represented by their respective head of government or state, finance minister, or foreign minister.

Theme Of G20 Summit 2023

The theme of the G20 Summit 2023 is Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam: One Earth, One Family, One Future, which emphasizes the value of humans, animals, plants, and microorganisms and their interconnectedness on Earth and in the broader universe. Additionally, the theme highlights the importance of LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), with a strong emphasis on encouraging environmentally sustainable and responsible choices, both on an individual and national scale. The goal of this approach is to ignite worldwide changes leading to a future that is cleaner, more environmentally friendly, and sustainable.

G20 Summit 2023 Venue

The G20 Summit’s 18th edition is scheduled for September 9th and 10th, 2023, and it will take place at Pragati Maidan, also known as Bharat Mandapam International Exhibition Convention Centre (IECC), New Delhi, India. This is the first such summit that is going to be held in India and South Asia.
