BSSC i.e. Bihar Staff Selection Commission is a body responsible for the recruitment of various non-gazetted posts in the Bihar state government departments and offices. BSSC Combined Competitive Examination Selection Process
The selection process for BSSC consists of 2 stages followed by a Physical test or DV as per the post applied for:
- Preliminary examination: This is considered to be the screening test conducted to shortlist candidates for the next stage.
- Mains examination: Candidates qualifying the prelims will be eligible for the Mains examination to appear for the in depth written examination of the post they have applied for.
- Document Verification: Candidates qualifying the mains examination have to get their original documents verified to ensure their eligibility for BSSC.
BSSC Combined Competitive Exam Pattern For Prelims
The preliminary exam of BSSC constituted 3 subjects namely General Studies, General Science & Mathematics, and Comprehension/Logic/Reasoning/Mental Ability.
- Type of questions: MCQ Type.
- Each Question is worth 04 Marks.
- Language of examination: English and Hindi
- Negative Marking: 01 Mark/Wrong Answer
- The duration of the Test is 02 hrs 15 min (135 Minutes).

BSSC Combined Competitive Exam Pattern For Mains
The main examination will consist of 2 papers containing multiple-choice questions. Paper 1 will be qualifying in nature. Paper 2 of candidates scoring more than 30% marks in Paper 1 will be evaluated. 1 mark for every wrong answer will be deducted.
